Description
1960s style psychedelic art in a black and orange doodle line art painting. Neurographic original painting with acrylic pen and acrylic paint on canvas. This was such a fun project because it was all doodling - I started with a textured painted canvas and had no design in mind, so it was totally relaxing and took my mind off all the chaos in the world.
The background is in a blush peach orange with white and aqua blotches. The painting is gently textured by using layers of mixed media materials to create lines and areas that are raised. One of my favorite uses of the acrylic paint pens is by making stepping stones or pebbles among the many styles of free-form shapes. Each shape has a different filling with webs, zig zags, wavy lines and so on.
Developed by Dr Pavel Piskarev in 2014, Neurographica or Neurographic art is a simple way to work with the subconscious mind through drawing, This creative method stimulates new neural pathways by combining art and psychology. Simply stated, connected neurons process information received.
Also known as doodling, neurographic art is a technique, which comprises drawing freeform lines or 'neuro lines. ' These are meant to enable the connection between the conscious and unconscious, gaining access to the inner self by using a specific algorithm or method. Neurography is a meditative drawing process that combines psychology and art. The technique is said to link your conscious and subconscious mind and create new neural pathways. The creative drawing process can help to reduce stress transform subconscious beliefs and create an overall sense of well-being. There is increasing evidence in rehabilitation medicine and the field of neuroscience that art enhances brain function by impacting brain wave patterns, emotions, and the nervous system. Art can also raise serotonin levels. These benefits don't just come from making art, they also occur by experiencing art.

Absolutely love this, such beautiful design and wonderful backgrown colors and textures, a feeling of prehistoric art and cave paintings with the earthen tones. Loved your description also. Would love to see in Discussion thread Surprises in Neurographic Art and How I Felt About it! LF

WOW, Lynnie, there is an amazing Neurographic overlay to the underpainted palette. The level of development in the larger neural areas is staggering. I often struggle with overdevelopment of themed Neurographic Art pieces myself because the lines can easily get lost. Your wise choice of black line when viewed from a bit more distance preserves the offside flow sufficiently when paired with your backstory of its development. Beautiful.
